Installation

Download

Download the XcodeSol POS Desktop application from the XcodeSol website after purchase.

Windows Installation

1. Download the .exe installer file 2. Double-click the installer to run it 3. Follow the installation wizard 4. Launch the application from your desktop or Start menu

Mac Installation

1. Download the .dmg disk image file 2. Double-click the .dmg file to mount it 3. Drag the POS application to your Applications folder 4. Launch the application from Applications or Launchpad

macOS Gatekeeper

If you see a security warning on macOS, right-click the app and select "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper restrictions.

First Run Setup

On first launch, you'll be guided through a setup wizard:

1. Business Info: Enter your business name and select currency 2. Tax Settings: Configure tax name and default tax rate 3. Printer Setup: Optionally configure receipt printer (can be done later) 4. Owner Account: Create your owner account with username and PIN

Data Storage

The application stores all data locally in:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\com.posapp.desktop\posapp.db
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/com.posapp.desktop/posapp.db

Data is stored in SQLite format and can be backed up by copying this file.

Updates

Updates will be available through the application's built-in update checker. You'll be notified when a new version is available.
