Client Challenges & Problem Scope
3,000 Daily Shipments — Dispatched by Phone Calls
A Dubai-based logistics company managing 3,000+ shipments daily across MENA ran their entire operation on Excel spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and a decade-old desktop CRM. Dispatchers manually assigned drivers by calling them one by one — a 45-minute process every morning. Drivers chose routes by intuition. Customers had zero visibility. 40+ complaint calls per day. 8% POD documents lost delaying invoicing by 2 weeks. Fuel costs 22% higher than necessary. $25,500/month operational waste.
Engineered Solutions & Technical Strategy
AI Auto-Dispatch: 45 Minutes → 30 Seconds
Smart Dispatching Engine evaluates all available drivers in real-time based on GPS proximity, current vehicle load, driver rating, shift hours remaining, and delivery location. Auto-assigns the optimal driver in under 30 seconds. Push notifications to driver PWA with one-tap accept/decline. Engine learns over time — drivers who deliver on-time get prioritized for their best zones.
Real-Time Tracking: 95% Fewer Customer Calls
Driver PWA updates GPS every 30 seconds via Socket.IO. Customers access a live tracking portal showing driver on map with dynamic ETA. Automated SMS alerts at milestones. Complaint calls dropped from 40+ per day to 1–2. CSAT scores rose from 72% to 95%.
AI Route Optimization + Digital POD
Modified Clarke-Wright algorithm with Google Distance Matrix for real-time edge weights. Multi-stop optimization, traffic-aware routing, time-window constraints. Digital POD eliminated paper — photos and signatures captured digitally, cutting invoicing from 2 weeks to same-day. POD loss: 8% → 0%.
